April 1, 2020 - Has the last few days felt like a few weeks? We know that this is a challenging time for parents and kids, and we want to do whatever we can to make it easier. 

We've created a calendar full of at-home activities as well as daily activities and important reminders during this time! Download the calendar here

TKBGC - Daily Challenges
We've been posting daily challenges on our social media to encourage our members and their families to try some fun & new ways to pass the time. Challenges are posted across our social media accounts every morning.

Our latest challenge: TeeKBGC - we are asking members to design their own TKBGC t-shirt. Download our t-shirt template here. We will be accepting designs for the remainder of our closure. Let's get creative! 

City of Toronto - COVID-19 Colouring Pages The City of Toronto has created "Stay at Home" colouring pages for kids to decorate and hang in their windows!

Jays Care Foundation - Unstoppable Challenges
Week 5 of the Unstoppable Challenges has been posted. The Unstoppable Kids Challenges are designed to help kids stay active, creative and learning new skills all from the comfort of their own home. Remember to keep track of your completed challenges in the Challenge Log Book and submit photos to UnstoppableKids@bluejays.com to be entered in the running to win cool prizes at the end of each week!

Ontario Science Centre - Science at Home!
Science At Home is a science based collection of resources that are both fun and educational for children. From do it yourself science experiments to free online movies, there's always opportunities to make observations and test theories - even from your own home!

Kids UpFront - At-Home Activities
Kids UpFront has put together a list of educational tools and family-friendly activities to help keep you busy. 

Corus Entertainment - #CanadaTogether CanadaTogether - an online portal that contains amazing resources to inspire, engage and entertain Canadians. These resources include news updates, financial assistance, and tips for entertaining children at home!

Cooking with Matt Basile of Fidel GastrosToronto chef Matt Basile has been hosting kid friendly cooking videos every Friday afternoon at 3PM on his Instagram! This Friday (April 24th) Matt is making a fun and delicious egg salad recipe.

See below for a list of ingredients needed for this live cooking opportunity.

  • 3 eggs - preferably pre boiled (Place the 3 eggs in a pot of room temperature water and turn the burner on high. Boil for 10-12 minutes and then remove and run under cold water before peeling)
  • 1/4 of a red onion
  • 6 slices of pickles
  • dijon mustard
  • mayo
  • hot sauce
  • chives
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic
  • paprika
  • chilli flakes/hot sauce or hot peppers

Frontlines - Free Online Tutoring!
Frontlines is providing free online tutoring for youth between the ages of 6 - 18 every Tuesday at 2:00pm.
They will be offering youth ONE-ON-ONE tutoring support via their program facilitators, and hope to make the transition of bringing school into the home a little easier.
